Al Bonar Biography
Al has twenty years experience in the craft of wood carving. He deftly employs the subtle beauty of a variety of Canadian wood species in creating his waterfowl carvings. In fact, to achieve a contrast, he often employs more then one wood species in his carvings.
He strives in the natural beauty of his subject, not only for accuracy in his subject, but also the graceful and sweeping lines typical of a work of art.
Al participated most recently in the annual Victoria County Studio Tour and The Buckhorn Art Festival. As founder of a wood carving school, he shares his talent and knowledge with other aspiring woodcarvers in the area.
